The Law School Issue

I'm currently watching the HARAPAN: ABS-CBN Senatorial Debate. Well, If I could just vote this coming elections, I'd definitely go for Bello, Hontiveros, and Tamano.

Anyway, enough about that. I passed the Ateneo Law Entrance Exam. To confirm my slot, I have to enroll later. I was actually so sure that I won't enter law school because I never imagined myself defending someone in court. Only the thought of wearing corporate attire everyday made me take the exam! Haha. However, just 4 hours before, Carmina PMed me and asked if I'd pursue law. Last Friday, Ate Vi was pushing me to enter law school and she shared how good it would be if I became a lawyer. So Carmina was helping me decide whether or not I should enter law school. I was actually kinda leaning more towards entering law school!

I wanted to discuss this thing with my parents. I want to try a sem of law school. If I didn't like it, then I'd leave. However, my dad didn't approve of this. He said that if I decided to enter law school, then I should finish it. Well, you know, it kinda hurt me. It seems like they weren't supporting whatever I had in mind. What's wrong with trying out 1 sem? It's not like I'm going to exhaust all our resources for a sem. What I wanted was to talk to my parents about this issue and not to discourage me from pursuing a sem. Plus, I don't think they feel the urgency of this matter. A 30-minute discussion (or less) with them would have been very helpful. Thank you parents.

Graduation and Holy Week

I have graduated from college and am now officially unemployed. Well, I'm looking for work but I'm not being pressured by my parents to work, so that is a good thing. Yesterday, I found out that I passed the Ateneo Law Entrance Exam! Waddup. Still, I won't pursue law simply because I don't think I am good in writing and speaking (debating).

The Holy Week is killing me. I'm so bored. The gym is closed. I have nothing to do. A while ago, my brother and I were fooling around in front of our mother. Well, I told him that we should not do the Visita Iglesia anymore. My brother started joking like, Huwag kalimutan ang Diyos, etc etc. My mother seconded the motion. She noticed daw that I wasn't recognizing anymore the presence of the Lord. She continued with saying that without the Lord, everything is impossible, etc. Well, mom, I was just joking.

But seriously though, unlike before (elementary or high school days), I oftentimes miss hearing the mass and even praying or thanking God for something! Well, I still am a Catholic but my exposure to the Jesuit priests made me prefer them over other priests. Like really, I prefer hearing the mass at the Pentecost Chapel in Varsity Hills because the presider is a Jesuit. Beautiful words always come from Jesuit priests. They properly address national issues, unlike normal priests. Lipa priests always tackle national issues but do not really prove a point. They say this is bad, and we should not do it but without clear explanation. They just go on explaining that it would be a sin to follow such acts.

Well, anyway. I can't be holy this holy week. Like tomorrow, we'll attend the procession and then pig out at a dinner buffet in our relative's house. This is actually a family tradition. So parents (especially mom), what happened to abstinence and fasting? We can go on and on telling everyone what to do and what not according to the Catholic tradition, but it would have been better if we shut our mouths up and just do whatever it is we are tasked to do. Or, do not pressure much on accomplishing traditions, just do not sin much? Like, do not do things that would hurt others. Haha. Wait, ang labo.

Anyway, visita iglesia tomorrow then procession at 5pm.

Officially The Last Week of College

After hitting the gym for 7 straight days, I lost 5 pounds. I actually gained 3 pounds over the weekend because our family always ate at some random restaurant for 2 days. Uhhh. I hate it.

Anyways, yesterday was a super fun day for me. I shopped for graduation clothes and shoes at Town. My parents were extra generous and their reason was because I am already graduating. Bought 2 pairs of longsleeves, 1 pair of pants, 2 ties, and a pair of shoes. Thank you parents!

Tomorrow is my graduation for the minor. However, I am more excited with the block party tomorrow night! It's going to be overnight at Vitto's place! It's Block F1's graduation ball so everyone would be in semi-formal attire. I'm excited to see my blockmates again after some weeks now. The day after tomorrow is the yearbook release and blue roast. Not much excited though. And on Saturday is my graduation!

Fuck, I miss Ateneo! I miss school. I miss studying. I miss writing. I miss reading.

P.S. Everyone is invited to my graduation dinner on the 28th at my house in Lipa. :)

Hayley Williams, come back soon okay?

In the words of Abe Guinigundo:

First and foremost I want to thank my twin, Andre Marana, for making this night possible because of his connections. Bawi kami sayo next time, pag hindi ka na nagddrama. :D

We waited 2 years for this night to come, and it did. In a ridiculously awesome way.

To say the least, Paramore is incredible when playing live. Some people say they're even better than they are on CD, and that's rare for the many rock bands we have today. Hayley Williams is a siren/ goddess/ vocal beast. Wow.

As amazing as the concert was, what happened after would trump everything else that took place before that moment we decided to make-silip at Shang. Haha.

Pat, thanks to Hubert Uy's blackberry, checked Hayley's twitter right after the concert and found out her plans about going swimming back at the hotel. Naturally, as any other fan-girls would do (@_@), we took the table nearest the entrance to the pool. A few minutes later, sure enough, white musician-looking people and bouncers started to fill the pool area. By the looks of it, we were definitely gonna get lucky.

But of course, we had to strategize: for 10-minute intervals, two people would be on the look-out near the elevators while the other three would stay at the table. And just like clockwork, she passed right by our table, and we called her by name 'cause we're cool like that. EH TUMALIKOD. HAHAHAHA

I was stunned but good thing Angee and Vitto were able to keep the conversation alive. She had to turn us down when we asked for a pic because it would be unfair to the other fans that she turned down as well. Good thing she's a sweetheart, kundi BV na 'yon, haha.

During the concert, she mentioned her sudden craving for a McDonald's cheeseburger and so we decided to go the extra mile and get her that burger. Again, sagot nanaman ni Hubert Uy yung tab. We ended up just ordering from HEAT and we attached a note to it, to be given by the waiter.

I must say, Edsa Shang staff are awesome, haha. Props to you guys. Our waiter, "Kuya," sensing our demise, decided to just escort us so we could hand the burger to Hayley in person. Angee was the only one brave enough to get close enough to hand it over herself (plus the fact na mainit ang mata sa aming mga lalaki nung negrong bodyguard), therefore meriting herself with the night's MVP honors award.

I want to thank Angee, Chu, Pat, and Vitto for making this night legendary. Tayo na ang official number 1 Filipino fans according to our note. Haha.

Hayley Hayley Hayley

The grades I got were really unexpected. I don't know if I will be happy or sad but I got an average of 3.33, 0.02 away from being a DL. I was expecting a lower QPI but then, it kinda hurt that, although higher, my QPI was almost DL level. I actually tried to make this a DL year but it's okay. My cumulative QPI is above 3.0 so that is one goal fulfilled.

This morning, I jogged. Yes. I was supposed to hit the gym this afternoon but I went to the mall instead and did some groceries.

Tomorrow, I'll be watching the Paramore concert at SM MoA open grounds. I'm super duper excited to see hayley williams! Shet. Super dream come true! I LOVE YOU HAYLEY!

On Friday, I will be having my first official job interview at Metrobank! I hope I get accepted or something. Yeah.

Last One

I can't believe I'm down to my last academic requirement before graduation. Like, hell yeah!

I don't know how I managed to get through the past week. It was like the hell-est hell week of my graduation life. Everyday, I had at least one academic requirement. I always slept at around 3am and had around 5 hours of sleep on the average. Anyway, I'm done with all my eco subjects! Hell yeah!

I'm currently at Cafe de Lipa, trying to study for my Philo orals. I need to study hard for these three thesis statement because I need to do good in the exam. As mentioned, I failed my Philo quizzes (50% of my grade) so I need to get an A to pull up my grade to (I hope) B+.

Anyway, can I just say that I already got my first (but hopefully not the last, *still hoping*) A for my last semester. Yeah, thanks Sir Sescon! In fairness to me, I really worked hard for that A. HAHAHA.

Back to work now! After March 3, I will be officially unemployed! As an unemployed, I promise to run every morning in Granja. I really need to lose some weight. Like really.

It's Gonna Make Sense

Last week had to be the hell-est week of my entire Ateneo life. Each day had at least one requirement. For the past week, I slept at around 2 am and woke up at 7. Good luck to my body clock.

Anyway, it was not a happy hell week, unlike the hell weeks before wherein there is some sense of accomplishment after successfully surviving it.

Last Tuesday, Ana's lolo died. I remember visiting him with my friends in the hospital. He had some strange sickness, basta he could not move his body. From then on, he could not eat or do other stuff. Ana told us that he usually vomited and defecated some strange black stuff. The ambularyos told the family that he was na-kulam and that his internal organs were being burnt; hence, the strange black stuff. This afternoon, I attended his funeral at Floral gardens.

Last Friday, I got all my Philo quizzes and Ec185 midterms back. I got 16/32 in Philo quizzes, which is 50% of my grade. On the other hand, i got 7.4 over 27 on my Ec185 midterms. Yeah, wtf.

Anyway, I am officially 1 presentation, 2 oral exams, and 1 paper away from academic freedom! I'm happy that I'll be graduating from a reputable school, but at the same time, sad that I will be leaving the institution that has shaped my future. I don't really know what the future brings. I'm scared of it.

I'm sad. I don't know why. Tomorrow should make me happy. I'll be going to Alabang to help my Dad look for my graduation gift. :D

Well, yeah

Happy Valentine's Day and Happy Chinese New Year to everyone!

Well, it will just be an ordinary Sunday for me. I have to finish my part on the Ec177 paper, write my Theo reflection paper, and (at least) start with my ProjMan journal.

My family is supposed to come here at Katipunan so we can all celebrate Valentine's Day but I don't know what happened.

Why is FMK becoming such a major game for barkadas? Yesterday, we tried starting with our Ec177 paper but to no avail. FMK, siomai, and hotdogs successfully distracted us.

PBB should not have revealed last Tuesday the number of votes each housemate got. The management didn't want the Melai supporters to be complacent since their bet is lagging behind. If this had not happened, Paul Jake would have emerged as the big winner.

I had so much fun playing Fuck, Marry, Kill and I've never with Carmina, James, and Auders. Super fun and spontaneous night at Cantina and McDo last Friday (until Saturday 3am!)!

I am so random.

ProjMan - Journal, Group Presentation
Philo - Quizzes and Final Orals
Ec185 - Reporting, Paper, Final Exam
Ec177 - Final Paper and Presentation
ICT4D - Final Paper and Presentation

Wala lang.

Trying to be back to blogspot

It has almost been a year and 3 months since I last made my post here. But guess what? I'm back and posting again!

Right now, I'm reading "In the Public Interest" by some Indian author. Vitto and I will be reporting about this book for our Social, Political, and Ecological Economics class. I still have, more or less, 160 pages left to read but yeah, I can manage. I hope to finish the first chapter before I go to sleep.

Tomorrow (or today), I have no class but at 4pm, I, together with my Theo groupmates, will be consulting with Sir Lib regarding our presentation tomorrow (Wednesday). I hope it turns out well! It's my first time to use a keynote! Nice slide effects, btw. Also, I will be having dinner with Mel and Eia at Omakase tonight! Although I am not much of a Japanese food fan, I'm still looking forward to this dinner since I haven't eaten at Omakase yet. Plus, it's Eia's treat! YEY!

Hmmm. What else? I think that's it. I'll finish reading the first chapter now. Shet. I missed blogspot! Haha.

BY THE WAY, it's doppelganger week!! Guess who my doppelganger is? See the picture below. :) Good night!

So bring on the rain

It has been a week since my vacation started so I decided to list down some things that made and make me happy. Wait. I won't be writing in complete sentences. Haha. Here's what I got:

1. When I hear Paris Hilton's Stars are Blind on the radio while I'm on the road. Haha. Let's see what love can do. Baby, I'm perfect for you... Haha.

2. When I get above perfect scores in exams. Oh yes!

3. When I think about how I really did my very best just to get the grade that I think I deserved but I did not get it. Then again, I know that some people didn't deserve the grade they got. I am not bitter or being particular. Thinking about that just makes me feel happy. Oh well, masama talaga akong tao. Kung nababasa ito ni Sir Rochester, he would say that I am intrinsically evil. =))

4. When guards salute me on my way to Club Malarayat. It feels like I am part of the elite or something. Haha.

5. When I shop for new items or when someone gives me new things. Yes, I am materialistic. Who isn't?

6. When I see Miley Cyrus' 7 Things video. I hate Miley and I hate this video but the latter just makes me smile all the time. And then I sing with Miley: The seven things I hate about you!!!

7. When I imagine myself as the fourth Jonas Brother. Nick Jonas FTW! Sobrang arteng kumanta! Very funny! I'm hot. You're cold. And my favorite line: Joe: Red dress then Nick backs up with red dress!! Haha. Okay, sana naiimagine ninyo. Haha.

8. When after waking up, I check the clock and I know that I was able to sleep for more than 9 hours. Sobrang bumawi!!!

9. When I went to Club Malarayat just to fish and since the fish are all small, I (well, Jeb and I) just threw all the bait to the water and watched the fish feast on it. Haha.

10. When I played golf for the first time. Well, technically, third time na. Haha.

11. When I checked my AISIS account to make arrangements on my schedule but I suddenly realized that my random number is 433 and making arrangements on my schedule is just plain stupid since I will only be left with the worst time slots. Haha.

12. When I received that text from ASUS confirming that the parts for my broken laptop is already available. Yey!

13. When I saw David Archuleta's new video, Crush. Yes, I am a David Archuleta convert. Haha.

14. When I know that everything is alright now. There is always a room for a little drama, you know. Haha.

P.S.
Check out Britney's new video Womanizer. So hot! The blonde and red-haired Britney!! Haha.
JB 44, kailan ang GIA?
F1, kailan ang block outing? Vitto, ang farm mo, please! Haha.
